About
Lunana: A Yak in the Classroom (Dzongkha:) is a 2019 Bhutanese drama film directed by Pawo Choyning Dorji in his feature directorial debut. A young teacher in modern Bhutan, Ugyen, shirks his duties while planning to go to Australia to become a singer. As a reprimand, his superiors send him to the most remote school in the world, a glacial Himalayan village called Lunana, to complete his service.
The film had its world premiere at the BFI London Film Festival. It was a nominee for Best International Feature Film at the 94th Academy Awards.
