What's Happening?

We have a brand new team of passionate volunteers who want to make the Victoria and Elizabeth Halls a central and affordable hub for village events, arts and culture.

Our mission is to revitalise the hall, increase bookings and create a vibrant hub which supports village events at an affordable price for all age groups.

Plans

Short term plans - Next 3-6 months

• SPRING CLEAN - do a thorough clean, update the decor and make basic repairs where needed.

• UPGRADES - install wifi, improve the sound and lights and add a projector and screen.

• SYSTEMS - we have a website and will be introducing an online booking system plus, in the near future, a simplified key access process.

Longer term planning

We've had a surveyor in, and happily there's nothing scary needing done. We will be looking at the Elizabeth Hall toilets first. Then a long term maintenance and upgrade plan will be put in place.

New entertainment

Funding applications are being made to set up live streaming of pop concerts, theatre, opera, ballet etc, and also an arts house movie club.

We want to encourage new activities which support local people and interest groups, so if you have a great idea but need some help on how to get it started, we're here to help.

Funding

All this work will require investment which we will be doing in a number of ways:

• Grant funding applications to government and charitable schemes for village halls.

• Events at the Victoria Hall - we will host a series of events, all proceeds will go to a chosen renovation project.

• Friends of Victoria Hall - a straightforward online donation point.

• Time - we will announce different projects eg. repainting, or some DIY - and if you have time, skills, equipment or just funds to support it, you can get involved personally.

• Support one of our projects by making a donation.
